After a 17 month hiaÂtus, Mad Men is back. Episode 3 of SeaÂson 5 airs tonight. And, to warm you up, we’re revisÂitÂing the moment when the award-winÂning AMC series first startÂed. AppearÂing at an event hostÂed by The New York Times, Jon Hamm walks us through his very first day on the job, and the chalÂlenges of shootÂing his first scene as “Don DrapÂer” — someÂthing he hanÂdled with Fred Astaire-like grace, says the show’s creÂator Matthew WeinÂer (who appeared on NPR’s Fresh Air last week). The talk comes from a 90 minute conÂverÂsaÂtion with the Mad Men cast. It’s availÂable (unforÂtuÂnateÂly for a fee) on FORA.TV here.
You can stream new episodes of SeaÂson 5 on the AMC webÂsite for free, and watch all priÂor seaÂsons on NetÂflix. If you don’t have a NetÂflix subÂscripÂtion, you can always sign up for a Free Month triÂal.

Did I miss episode 2? I thought the seaÂson preÂmiere was last SunÂday …
Well, I wish I could delete my comÂment. I guess a two-hour preÂmiere counts as two episodes. =)
No worÂries, that threw me off too. If you look on the AMC web site, they countÂed the first show as two episodes.
Cheers,
Dan
