    Yes, we lost a great one. With Dave Porter, one of the greatest song writers in modern music. Soul and love and its best. Soul Man and Hold On, I’m Coming, may be two of the greatest songs ever written. Take a look at the Stax/Volt catalog to see what an amazing song writer, piano player and singer this man was. The world is not as good without the “Black Moses” around.

    a flat-out KILLER live verion, the best i’ve heard. Recorded at Wattstax 1973 with a conga player and fabulous funky guitar breaks. The Reverend was a scene stealer even then — you could see he overstayed his welcome and Isaac had to tell him to get the fuck off the stage
