Miley Cyrus & David Byrne Perform David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” on New Year’s Eve

Last night, Miley Cyrus and David Byrne performed David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” on the NBC holiday special Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party. And they also treated viewers to a performance of “Everybody’s Coming to My House,” from Byrne’s 2018 album American Utopia. Not a bad way to send off 2022.

Before leaving 2022 behind, we’ll also flag another Miley Cyrus collaboration–a performance from this summer’s celebration of the life of Taylor Hawkins. Below, watch her take the stage with Def Leppard and perform “Photograph” at the 3:45. No doubt, she can sing.

Happy 2023.

Byrne dances like the whitest guy in the room, fresh off hip replacement surgery. And was that lip-synched?

  • Mike Bean says:

Any of David Bowie songs and never be sung by Miley Cyrus any other singer but not her please that voice is just horrible

  • Dorothy says:

I still don’t understand why so many musicians celebrated Taylor Hawkins. He was a effing junkie! He died of an OD! He had 13 different substances in his body when he died. Including heroin and coke! Why would you want to pay tribute to that? I feel bad for his family. Don’t up play a junkie, his family should have sent him to rehab. No one can be that addicted to drugs and your loved ones don’t know about it. They just chose not to see it. And so did all of those musicians that played a tribute to him. Todays sad society, and not wanting to see the truth…

  • Tara says:

Dorothy I so hope you never have a loved one who battles with addiction. You do not understand it enough to talk about it and you come across ignorant.

  • Grannyflee says:

You are so right. Sad for the kids to see all this positive about a guy that was so a negative role model

  • Garland says:

And the award for most astonishing display of ignorance in a community forum goes to …

    DOROTHY!

You did it! amongst always stiff competition, you pulled out a win. Dotards of the world will honour your name forever.

  • J Wallace says:

That sound wasn’t about Miley — it was about David Byrne. What a WONDERFUL vehicle for him. Literally moved by several clips I’ve seen from the show — thanks Miley!
