WOOOWW I am amazed at the amount of free lectures that are available on this site. I really want to say that this is one of the best services on the web. I want to say that I am a blind college student majoring in Computer science, but I love physics and sciences. Having access to this website helps tramendously with preparing for courses that I will be taking in the future. Being a blind student means that I must be familiar with a subject before taking it so that I know what to expect when a professor writes on the board and I would like to aplaud to the fact that you can provide me with this option. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH

  40. Hairy Maclary says . . . | October 7, 2009 / 11:09 pm

Wise up people, none of these online lectures offer you any degree credit. To get that, you have to enrol and be assessed.

  41. rachel ravitsky says . . . | October 10, 2009 / 12:40 pm

Is there a way to build a self study from those lectues that can bring me to a lever of BA say in mathematics of physics? or it is just a bunch of lectures to those who already graduated?

  42. Asif says . . . | October 12, 2009 / 11:23 pm

Is there any site on research methodology?

  43. sol says . . . | October 13, 2009 / 10:37 am

per Hairy Maclary’s comments….it is true people, these online sources will NOT lead to a degree nor allow you to accumulate credits towards one. NOTHING is free. You have to do the real work: pay tuition, go to class, be tested, graded, etc.

However, it does not hurt to take advantage of these online webcasts as introductory education towards a particular topic. It always looks good on a resume to show that you attempted to learn something new, no matter how limited. BUT, it should be added under a new heading of “training or courses” (not education as in a degree with dates) when adding to a resume. Remember, NEVER LIE! Employers are sharp to all the shortcuts.

    Dear Dan,

First I would like to congratulate you with this extraordinary website! I almost check this website every day to see what's on and I truly admire your efforts by providing us with these wonderful resources from all around the world! This is truly an open culture!

You might also want to include the online courses offered by the Open University in the Netherlands. The courses are in Dutch but they are for free, unless you want to gain a certificate. Please visit: http://www.opener.ou.nl/.

I was wondering if you might know some useful learning communities (or if there are any at least)? I am participating in and building one myself for language learning at this moment (http://www.cafedelaslenguas.com – not online online, but with a real life component too), but I am still looking for good online vle's to actually study the online material presented here, all together with students from all over the world.

Anyway, I admire your work here!

    Warmest regards,
    Dirk
